Oh Canada

February 26, 2015

On Thursday, February 26, 2015, Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Senator Thanh Hai Ngo had the pleasure of meeting Hung Vu and Lan Ton, who together wrote the song, “Thank you, Canada” to mark the 40th anniversary of the arrival of Vietnamese Boat People to Canada. The Prime Minister thanked the couple and recognized the tremendous contributions of the Vietnamese community to building a strong, prosperous and free Canada.  Photo Credit: Office of the Prime Minister







Ottawa Tet

February 15, 2015

This year’s Ottawa Tet Festival was held at the Nepean Sportsplex on February 15th 2015. Senator Ngo gave the keynote address to about 500 Vietnamese Canadians who came together to celebrate the cultural traditions of the Canadian Vietnamese people. Montreal Tet 2015

On February 8th, 2015, the Honourable Senator Thanh Hai Ngo, Minister Kenney and Thomas Mulcair were joined by members of the federal, provincial and municipal government to celebrate alongside Montreal’s vibrant Montreal Vietnamese community at the Montreal Tet Festival. Vietnamese Tết Toronto Festival 2015 with PM Stephen Harper

On February 1st 2015, the Right Honourable Prime Minister Stephen Harper, Ministers Jason Kenney, Chris Alexander, Bal Gosal and Senator Ngo Thanh Hai were accompanied by several Senators and Members of Parliament at the 30th annual Toronto Tet Festival in Toronto, Ontario to celebrate the Lunar New Year of the Goat.
