On Ma;y 24, Senator Ngo was invited to the Ashbury College in Ottawa to commemorate Asian Heritage month. Senator Ngo prepared a brief speech about the significance of Asian Heritage Month, what it represents and why this event is so important to people of Asian descent. Following that, there was a short question and answer period, many students asked the Senator questions regarding his role as a senator as well as what Asian Heritage Month means to him.

On May 3rd 2016, Senator Ngo, as well as other senators of Asian descent, celebrated the 15th annual Asian Heritage Month. The evening was dedicated to the Honorable Senator Vivenne Poy, who established May as Asian Heritage Month. The festivities included a variety of Asian food vendors as well as cultural performances and activities for guests to enjoy.
