Senator Ngo attended the annual Taste of Asia event in Markham, where he spoke as a special guest. This event is significant as it represents the multicultural mosaic of Canada and provides a platform to further promote harmony between various cultural groups including a collaboration with the Indigenous community of Ontario this year. Hoa Hao Vigil

Cry Me a River Event

Senator Ngo attended a special vigil for the victims of the environmental disaster occurring in Vietnam hosted by the Viets Beyond Borders. Hundreds of Vietnamese locals have been affected by the large fish disaster caused by Formosa’s harmful waste dumping into the ocean. Many who live along Vietnam’s central coast have lost their way of life as many depended on fishing to make a living. Summer Interns Meet with Senate Speaker

The Hearts of Freedom Gala

On June 5th, 2016 Senator Ngo attended the Hearts of Freedom Gala to commemorate the 30th Anniversary of the Presentation of the Nansen Medal Award at the Canadian Museum of History. This award recognizes Canada’s essential and constant contribution to the cause of refugees during the mass migration of South East Asian immigrants in 1986. Candlelight Vigil in Toronto

Meeting Rona Ambrose

On June 2nd, 2016, this year of summer internship students attended a meeting with Rona Ambrose, the interim leader of the Conservative Party of Canada and Leader of the Official Opposition. The interns were able to take this opportunity to ask Ms. Ambrose for advice on starting a political career, inquire about her journey in becoming a politician as well as discuss about their experiences on the hill.
