Candlelight Vigil in Toronto

June 3, 2016

Hundreds of Vietnamese locals have been affected by the large fish disaster caused by Formosa’s harmful waste dumping into the ocean. Many who live along Vietnam’s central coast have lost their way of life as many depended on fishing to make a living. Moreover, the toxic run off from the fishes caused illness and damage to the surrounding ecosystem. Senator Ngo attended a Candle Light Vigil in Toronto at Nathan Phillip Square with 600 people of the Vietnamese Canadian community to commemorate the victims of the environmental disaster occurring in Vietnam.
