Lunar New Year (Tết) Festival and Town Hall Meeting in Calgary

On February 10, Senator Ngo was invited by the Vietnamese Students Association of Calgary to join in the Lunar New Year (Tết) celebrations with members of the Canadian Vietnamese community. To usher in the Year of the Dog, Senator Ngo enjoyed the many highlights of the festival such as traditional cuisine and performances. On this occasion, Senator Ngo presented Dr. Do Huu Truong with the Senate 150^th Anniversary Medal in recognition of his outstanding contributions to the Vietnamese Canadian community in Calgary. On February 11, Senator Ngo was also the keynote speaker at a Town Hall Meeting to discuss issues of interest to the Vietnamese Canadian community.
