Bodhi Meditation Day and Celebration of Cambodia’s 6th General Election

July 29, 2018

On Sunday, July 29, the Senator was delighted to join the Buddhist community in Greater Toronto on the occasion of Bodhi Meditation Day. Taking place at the Toronto Bodhi Meditation Centre, the annual event was a celebration of gratitude for the many benefits that Bodhi meditation has brought to families and communities across the world. Participants had the chance to discover and enjoy a number of cultural performances – including an Energy Bagua demonstration, games, vegetarian foods and much more. Senator Ngo was proud to support Bodhi Meditation Day as the practice becomes an ever greater part of our country’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage.

That same day, the Senator was invited by the Consulate of the Kingdom of Cambodia in Toronto to celebrate the 6th General Elections of the Kingdom of Cambodia, which took place at the Residence of Honorary Consul Chhat Chhour. This joyous event was a celebration of support for peace and democracy in Cambodia. It also served to recognize the many important contributions of Cambodian Canadians to our country’s diversity and prosperity.
