Statement by Senator Thanh Hai Ngo on the 2017 Summer Internship Program

January 19, 2017

Today Senator Thanh Hai Ngo issued the following statement on the 2017 Summer Internship Program:

“I am proud to announce the opening of this year’s Summer Internship Program application period. I deeply encourage all full-time Vietnamese-Canadian university students across the nation to apply to this opportunity in order to gain unique and valuable work experience in the Senate of Canada for this upcoming summer.

“The objective of this Internship program is to provide interns with marketable skills and practical work experience in human rights awareness, communication and office administration that will prepare them for future employment. Selected candidates will also have the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the Upper Chamber, engage in Canadian politics as well as have the opportunity to meet important figures that contribute to Canadian democracy. Interns will also be able to generate the 2017-2018 Report on the Human Rights Situation in Vietnam which my office is committed to producing annually to raise awareness.

“For further details on the Internship such as application criteria and complete process, please refer to my website.

“I look forward to meeting this year’s group of talented individuals from across Canada and welcoming them to Parliament Hill for an unforgettable first-hand experience.”
